I have a Savage M99 that has a Weaver fixed 4 power scope (old). I want to put a 3x9 or something similar on it and work up some 125gr loads for coyote and wolf. It has a scope mount rail on it that needs a minimum 5.5-5.6 inches on the flat 1 " tube to fit in the rings. The vortex website is the only one that shows this measurement. (see L4)

Does anybody know of or where I can find this info on other scopes? I want to get and OK scope (read that inexpensive) to put on this rifle that will get limited use. I want something light, variable 3x9 ect. and affordable. The Vortex may get a nod if I don't find something else but it is a 4x12. Thanks

Not sure just something in expensive. I've looked at several manufactures but no one has the length but Vortex. Only 1" diameter.

I will probably just have to take a tape and measure some at Sportsmans next time I go. (two hrs away)

Leupold has it for every model under dimensions, the VX-Freedom 3-9x40 is too short at 5.38". The 3.5-10x40 VX3i has a particularly generous mounting space of 6" so it would work.

Meopta has it for most models, except newer ones which is aggravating. The 3.5-10x44 Meopro is 5.55", so it may work.
