What 30mm scope rings would you recommend for the following setup:

Rifle: 6.5 PRC Springfield Waypoint
Scope: March 2.5-25x42mm with 30mm tube

Thanks!

I have been using Talley lightweights on all 4 of my rifles over the last three years. Tikka T3 270 and Tikka T3x 7mm rem mag, Remington 700 308, and Kimber Montana 300 wsm. I have enjoyed the combination they offer of being lightweight and rock solid. I don’t shoot past 500 yards in practice and my hunting is done 350 yards and in. Mostly 200 yards and under.

I think most guys that do a lot of longer range shooting prefer a little heavier duty set up this set up has worked great for me.

I’m also a big fan of the Talley scope mounts. That’s 90% of what I use in combination with a Leupold vx3 2.5-8x. On this build I am going with a bigger/heavier scope than I normally use. I ended up buying a set of the Seekins rings.

I've cracked two sets of talleys and thus transitioned away from them.

Hawkins for any application they work in are simply the best answer today. If I am using a pic base or 2 piece I will go burris with the inserts. This allows a ton of adjustment and will never leave a mark. I have seekins, hawkins and NF on rails with great results as well....but for even money or less, the burris does more than the others.

I have heard about the cracking talleys but have had many sets for a long time and no problems. The vortex upper end think maybe pro series have been good when mounting to a rail.

The rings are THE link between your scope and the rifle. You have a high end scope, don't go cheap on the rings and risk reliability.

Seekins precision rings, or the Vortex PMR rings (which are just the same Seekins rings with a Vortex logo on them) are the least expensive I would recommend. They are solid, do not move, and return to zero for me when I move scopes across rifles.

Hawkins rings are also great, or step up to the ARC, MPA or Spuhr's.

Could you elaborate on the cracking issue? I have Tally 1” and 30mm steel rings on a lot of rifles including 300H&H, 338WinMag, 375H&H and 416Rigby. Where are they cracking and have you had any problems with the steel rings?
Thanks
Mike

I agree with what others have said. I really like Hawkins. They are just a little bit more substantial than Talley without adding much weight. I ran Talleys for a while and never personally had and issue but have more peace of mind once I switched.

All of my rifles had either Talley or Leupold bases and rings. After I dropped a rifle out of my tree stand one season and busted up a scope and the rings, I switched all of my rifles to Nightforce bases and rings and never looked back.

Mine were the talley one piece. They cracked on the bottom ring around 4 o'clock.

Really hard to spot at first.

I used to have Talley LW on everything, but after I cracked a set I went to rail and rings on all my serious rifles. Talley was great and replaced them quickly and at no cost.

They are simple, light and look good though, I personally just don’t have confidence in them anymore.

Ditto for the Seekins or Vortex PMR rings. precision and strong. If you want something lighter, maybe Warne Mountain Tech

I also prefer the Seekins rings and use the Murphy precision titanium bases. Any thoughts on MDT rings???? Really like how they secure the rail
