Scope my rifle

I'd suggest the NXS 2.5-10x42 it ticks almost every box except the price. See what you can find for a used one and keep looking. I picked one up for about 1k that was nearly new. Maybe save a few more months and splurge on something that you won't have to worry about for the next 20 years.

Great question and something similar I have been researching for awhile now too. I haven’t found one that hits all your considerations. If you could list your considerations in order of importance that might help us get close. For what it’s worth the one I’m leaning towards is the Trijicon Huron.

Rifle: Tikka T3x 300 wsm
Use: mountain hunting Elk/deer/antelope
Shots: 100-400, occasional 500, longer practice at the range
SWFA 3-9 HD is the scope you are describing.
Considerations:
- rifle will see hard use
Big check.
- dialing turret w/ zero stop
Check with a cheap aftermarket kit or a trip to the hardware store for some nylon washers.
- parallax adjustment
Not needed for this category/use case.
- variable power
Check
- 9x min max magnification
Check
- sub 20 oz, preferably far less
Check, 19.xx
- Oh, and around $500 …
$599 new when in stock, if you're fast you can score them used for less (but usually not $500)
I will consider other specs as they come, for example, FFP vs SFP - could go either way for the right scope, same can be said for mOA vs Mils, etc…

FYI, I have gone through and am continuing to go through the massive amounts of info on this topic offered on this site.

I know I am limited with the $500 or thereabouts budget, but that just is what it is.

Thanks for your opinions (and/or offers) on a reliable scope for this setup.

Take a look at arken epl4 it's the cheapest scope I run. It's the closest to your asks I can get and get somewhat quality. It's a little over the 20 oz and I'm not sure how you define hard use. I have hunted with that arken. The hard use is going to be the big one, take a look at the drop test info on the scopes. If your hard use includes abusive situations you need to save more for a nightforce or possibly swfa if you want ultimate reliably. All your asks are premier asks and a lot of the top of the line scopes don't have them all. Good luck in your hunt.
