A little update, just snagged a 4.5-14x40 cds VX3i off eBay with alumina caps for $375. Couldn’t pass that deal up.

Got it cleaned, scope mounted and trigger tuned up with an ernies spring. Thanks for the suggestions guys, let’s hope she’s a shooter!

Are you sure it's a real Leupold? Lots of fakes out there, especially on ebay.

I’d look at the older leaupold or weavers, state of the art when your rifle was new. My dad bought one in 59 for sheep, had a weaver on it. I’m nostalgic, congratulations on a great find.

Pig hunter I have that exact scope on my old four digit Sako L61 264 Win Mag. I really like this scope/rifle combo as this is my rifle for packing in and out of the mountains.
I bought my scope brand new at Whitaker’s in Kentucky for waaaay less than your budget. I live about 45 minutes away from there so I drop in regularly.

I spent many a day at Whitaker's growing up. Where abouts are you in Southern IN I grew up about an hour from there.
