Setting up a 6 ARC 20” heavy barrel Howa mini. I’m looking for a light scope to put on top. I would prefer something under 20 oz and as much magnification as possible. FFP would be nice. What do you recommend?

3-9x42 SWFA pairs nicely with my 20” CF Howa Mini….However it will be replaced with the ZT S2H scope once the orders are in.

Tiny rifles, like them better with small scopes. Have run 3-9x40, 4x33x, 2.5x20, 6x36, and some lpvo’s, even a Holosun 507c. Always playing. Some Burris steel bases and weaver 1” lows and accupoint 3-9x40 blends a lot, pretty sure I tried that and it just cleared but forgetting lots at this stage so don’t call that gospel, get the mil-dot if so.

Currently mine takes rejects I have on shelves, and is wearing a 1-4 accupoint german but it won’t stay like that. Eventually it will likely get to 3-9 mildot if I decide to quit using it as a scope donor 2nd rate option here but kids like the rifle and kill well with it and it’s stupid accurate or would have been shipped long ago...it’s a BB gun in size and handling. Shorter eye relief scopes work well. And old leupy 3-9x33 ultralight be a good fit for point and shoot. That’s the scale. 3-9x40 almost too big on it. A Nx8 1-8 be good but just too much $ to set on the little pos for me, but I do dumb sh1t like that often. Never say never, said nx8 sitting on a Ruger American ranch right now and feels very wrong. Good luck settling on something for the howa. Especially if it’s a mini.

Tract 1-8 sfp mil be good fit on it. 1” low nf rings. Wouldn’t cringe me as much and suit better. Been shooting that scope on a tikka 233 to 550 so far and great match, still prolly too nice for a howa though

Sub 20oz, ffp, high mag is probably going to be a stretch. Especially if you want something drop test approved.
I like the NF 3-18 nx6 @ 24oz or thereabouts.
The reticle is a bit shit.

I also like the specs/weight on the lht razor 4.5-22 but vortex isn't exactly known for durability.

Thanks for the comments. I tend to over-scope my rifles and they end up off balance. I like the idea of the Steiner H6Xi 2-12x42 and am leaning that way. However, at 23 ounces, that's getting up there for the little mini. I bought the heavy barrel mini to be able to shoot longer shot strings so I'm already making compromises.

NF 2-12 f1 nx6 might be suitable if you like the reticle.
its 22 oz i believe

whats the budget, i have the gun your talking about that i wanted to build for cheap. i had talley lw rings here so used those. had a leupold freedom 3x9x50 laying around i stuck on it. so far it holds zero an shoots lights out. if i was using it for a antelope rifle or something a little rougher than walking 200 yds to a deer blind id went with something steel rings an prob my trijicon 3x9x40 accupoint.

I will be trying out a Eotech Vudu 4-12 on my 6mm arc when I can put the funds together. Right now I have Burris Veracity 2-10. The scope is a bit porky but it shoots awesome.

Depends on what you want to use it for and scope budget. I have the same Howa and it’s currently wearing a 3.5-10 Leupold that I had around which is just fine for hunting. If I was primarily target shooting, I would go with more magnification. As it is now, to the perfect balanced little woods gun for my daughter when she is old enough. In the meantime, my niece will be taking it mule deer hunting this fall.
