Looking to get scope covers for two of my scopes.

do you guys recommend the full neoprene covers or just like butler creek flip ups?

also can these be left on the scopes inside the safe for storage without damage to scope?

For years i ran butler creek flip caps. They broke easily under heavy use, along with actually losing a few to poor fit.

I transitioned to a scope coat - i quickly lost the first one, then I found that they just didn't work out in a high stress quick situation for me - so those were out.

I now run Tenabraex flip caps - they have proven to be very robust! I highly recommend them. They are pricey, but i've found they hold up to severe use making the cost negligible.

I personally use AADland caps on my scopes. They're expensive but when I took a fall from 6ft up coming out of my treestand last year and my gun hit the ground with me (I always unload before coming down), I didn't have to worry about anything.

Also used Butler Creeks a few times, but as previously stated, broke once or twice, and the objective end opened up inadvertently a few times by just moving against my pack or belt - when it was raining.

I just use stock molded covers from Nikon, with the elastic cord that holds them on. I keep them in my pack and put them on only when it's raining or going to rain. Go without otherwise.

I use the butler creek flip ups on a lot of my scopes. On the higher end Leupold and Swaro's I use their own brand of flip-ups, which of course are very nice quality. One of the good things about them is they thread on, so no concerns about them coming off.

Have also used the Scope Bikini which is good for a really snug fit. But my preference is the flip-up variety. I'll have to look into the Tenebraex as they look nice!
