How quick does it deploy? I hunt heavy timber for elk in eastern OR and looking for a cover that pulls off fast. I was looking at the SG one, but I feel the brush with take it right off.

The scoped action armor absolutely won’t come off in brush.

Taking it off is a quick “gross motor” process in two steps.

Grab the wrap at the front or rear of the scope and slip it over the end and it pops right off. The first “pocket” to pull off is fast and easy, no snags. One off just drop it and reach for the second pocket.

The second pocket over the scope comes off the same, just need to pull a little more to stretch the elastic to avoid the snaggly scope bits.

It’s faster than anything with buckles or something requiring fine motor skills. And gives the most protection of what matter with the least weight penalty.

My partner and I have been running it long enough on our rifles to be able to rip it off without really looking down, and quickly.

Full coverage obviously adds a time penalty, but it is very small. Basically like taking off two neoprene bikini. Probably the same or fractions of a second more than opening two scope lids/covers, but only if you practice catching the tiny spot on the plastic to pop them open.

If you are gun in hand on a stalk, I recommend flipping half inside out and sticking it inside the other pocket. Both of the “pockets” are over the scope and the extra folded part hanging down is over the bolt if you are in brush. At that point it’s simple to rip off as a neoprene cover.

Lemme get a video up. I have been working on them.

We ran them in AK on our 8 day caribou hunt. Keeps action dry.

Snow? Picture is worth a thousand words… I do keep a prototype Dyneema full cover for serious conditions. I tried to hunt, but I saw the snow was coming in harder so I packed up and started the hike back…
