VX6hd 2-12. Low power and massive FOV feels comforting in big bear country, 12x is plenty for most hunting shots-FOV remains good.

I hunted moose with a receiver sight minus the insert for 40 years and didn't feel handicapped. As my eyes aged and I sought a lighter rifle, I opted for a 3X Leupold which has sufficed for 20 years.

For moose, I use a 1-4x variable Leupold. Definitely has plenty of magnification and more than enough low light capability.

Get the best clarity light gathering scope you can afford. Low light is more important than magnification in my opinion for moose. I am partial to the better Zeiss optics.

Thanks to everyone for the help but I'm putting this on hold. Got a text from a kodiak guy and he's got a cancelation for a bear I'm taking for 2 months from now . Guns gonna have to keep the glass it's got and I gotta spend some time behind it among a bunch of other scrambling
