Scope Bumper Scope caps

Anyone tried these?

They don't click closed but they're like $45 for a set and should do well against snow/dirt/vegetation. Not sure how they'd handle rain?

They have covers for SWFA so I'm going to try one out.

I have a set of hammy’s caps and a set of 100 hundred concept caps. Both work, they’re fine for what they are. They aren’t comparable to scope bumpers.

Scope bumpers lock stuff out. The others just cover the glass.

Thanks for the comparison on those.

I might put a ring of RTV around the outside of my scope where the Hammy's caps will sit and see if that makes a good seal.

These look good to me. I had a Butler Creek loosen up and slide back without noticing that little red lever assembly cut the shit out of the corner of my eye

Hammy’s caps are what I got before Scope Bumpers were given to me. They are made for gas guns, and in that they work ok. On a bolt action, with more than a 60- maybe 70° throw, you will wreck your hands with them. They also are clunky enough that the flip and flop as pointed out above, you can’t really rotate the rear one too much to clear the knob and your hand, because the sharp points that stick out are so large- you either interfere with the guns function, or block your turrets and FOV. That’s to say nothing of the ring that attaches it to your scope.

Here is a couple of days after getting the first set- I had already pulled the rear one off and tossed it. The very first rack of the bolt took the skin off down to the bone on my right thumb knuckle- I have a picture of it somewhere. People that have been to S2H and used my shooting mat- that’s where the bloodstains on it came from.

They rank right up with the MDT Fieldstock, and Spartan Springbok bipod for worst items for a bolt gun that I have used.


On the other hand, Scope Bumpers have been much better than I expected-
