I'm looking for a heavy duty hiking boot that is stiff and durable, anyone used the Scarpa grand dru?

I’m in a similar situation... I tried the crispi Thor’s on and they seemed to fit my foot very well and didn’t appear to be overly stiff

But I’m wondering about it’s durability

I have worked and hunted in the same pair Grand Drus for three years straight and they are only now starting to break down. The rubber rand and sole are still well attached despite hundreds of miles in talus and scree. I've owned almost every other big name boot and these have lasted the longest by a wide margin. They are very stiff but feel planted on all terrain. Take the laces off when you get them and throw them in the trash, replace with P-cord that has had the inside strings pulled out and you'll have a pair of boots that lasts a very long time.

I have them, so far I like them. 2019 will be first hunting season on them, but I've been doing some training in them. They feel more comfortable and I notice the stiffness less and less each time I try them on. I do question the published weights, my 45's are 84.2 oz for the pair. That is heavy af. But, I wanted the aggressive tread and stiffness.

Ran them all last year, 10 days in Alaska for caribou to november archery deer hunting here in Idaho. They never leaked once, and they provided wayyyy better warmth in November teens temps that the Sportiva Trango Cubes. They are extremely solid, quality boots. There's really nothing to complain about. My only thing is that I have to wrench on the laces since my foot is narrow/low volume and the scarpa has more volume than the typical la sportiva fit. I added the superfeet greens to help with that. Love the silicone perwanger leather.
