Scammers are everywhere – be careful

So I sent an instant message to a Rokslider about buying an item from him. I also replied to his thread that I had sent him a instant message.

About 20 minutes later, I get a text on my cell phone from a guy claiming to be the potential seller. He got my cell phone from a previous post I made a couple of years ago.

Obviously, they were two different people, and I verified that through instant messenger here on the forum. Little nuances in the guy's text gave away that he is not legit. Spelling, word, usage, etc.…

Just saying be careful...

Not sure how they can search so fast, but an “I’ll take it” or “pm sent” posted in ads is like chumming the waters.

Bots scanning and watching.

I would bet they have a search that looks for phone numbers, then cross referencing it to your profile and a bot is set to watch all your posts and flag when you post certain words. Really not that hard.

These scammers are running it like a business. It’s not a side hustle.
