I arrived with one dog, and somehow went home with just that one same dog.

My dog and I went out to the trainer's today to work on backing. He has four female English pointer puppies that he held back a few extra weeks to figure out which one(s) he wants to keep for his program.

It took a lot for me not to bring one home, but I'm sure I'll have to say no for the next few months when we go out there.

Second dog is twice as much work. Your dogs young. Id keep going solo for another two years, enjoy it. Once your nearly full time on bird hunting consider the second dog to extend your time in the field.
