Please help me decide between one of these. Will be used solo for the most part, but at 6'4 I want a little room to sit/stand. I've had a cimarron and LBO and got sick of crawling around all the time.

What would you choose and why? Post pictures if you have them.

Without knowing I'd go with the one with the smallest footprint. I really like my Redcliff, but its huge for one person. I think the sawtooth is a little smaller, not sure which one is shorter.

I have a sawtooth for solo trips when it gets cold or for 2. Awesome shelter way lighter than a redcliff. I am 6' 2 and have plenty of room to stand. Do you plan on packing in or setting up at the trail head

In your shoes I’d go sawtooth. I narrowed it down to the same two shelters a couple years ago and went redcliff but only because it’s for 2-3. The redcliff is gigantic for two people, definitely overboard for one. You and all of your gear could easily spread out on one side of the pole with room to spare. 6 oz heavier than the sawtooth is nothing to sneeze at if you’re packing it in.

I'd be packing in most of the time. The possibility is always there to use it at the truck though. I was pretty well set on the sawtooth until I started seeing pictures of the sagging when it gets cold. I can't stand the noise when they are flapping in the wind.

Never really considered the tipi. I would prefer something that is easy to setup. What is the height at the pole? For some reason I thought the 4 man was a little shorter than the sawtooth or redcliff.

You will have more usable space in one of the pyramid shelters. If you guy out the sawtooth there's no more sag/ flapping than any of my seek outside shelters. If it ever stops snowing here I will try to get you some pics

Redcliff is definitely more than enough space. 4 man tipi is perfect for a solo guy looking for extra space. Though in terms of pack weight and space, really not much of a difference. What I do really like about the redcliff is the sitting space. I love my helinox chair 0, and with the rectangular pyramid shape of the redcliff, the less steep pitch angle of the long sides makes for a lot more space to sit up in a chair. You're not going to be able to stand straight up anywhere except the dead center of any of these shelters, so I tend to think of sitting space as more of the relevant question. And the redcliff definitely wins there. Though the real winning factor for any seek over any kifaru, I'm my opinion, is the sod skirt. Invariably you'll be setting up on less than perfectly even ground. The sod skirt helps a ton to keep too many drafts from coming in underneath.

I use my Sawtooth solo all the time. Love it. I am 6'4" and can stand up fully by the pole. Nice not to have to crawl in and out. Agree with the chair comment above as well. I take my helinox chair with me (depending on distance) and love having the ability to sit comfortably to eat at night. The comfort of the bigger shelter far out weighs the weight penalty for me, but I am really never packing in more than a 2-3 miles.

I used the sawtooth on a solo backpack elk hunt. Although heavy to pack in solo with liner and stove, it was sure nice having the room and being able to stand up. One thing that can be an issue is finding a spot big enough to pitch them (any of the bigger shelters.

I ran the sawtooth for four years for two hunters. My partner is 6'3" and he had plenty of room to stand. I recently got the redcliff light version and uturn stove. So its easier to cook and we now have way more than enough room for everything. Trad bows take more room than a wheel bow. with the sawtooth we pitched a tarp for packs and bows to stay outside and ate there as well. Solo Im taking the sawtooth any others and Im taking the redcliff light. I might take it anyways because of the Uturn stove and leave the cylinder at home
