This has been a fun and productive barrel for me over the past few years, but I'm going to put a .284 Win CF barrel on this rifle now, and this one needs a worthy home.
I posted a thread on this barrel not long ago, since I had such good luck with Twisted Barrel's fluting process. This is a Shaw 7mm-08 stainless barrel I bought from Midway. It's a heavy sporter contour that I had fluted (six straight flutes) to reduce weight. It's been cut to 20" and recrowned. With the fluting, the barrel weighs less than 2 lbs.
It is a very fast barrel. I've always gotten close to book velocities even though it's only 20". And it's reliably accurate. The muzzle diameter is 0.630" at the 20" length. Might be a good candidate to thread for a suppressor if you have one.
I've shot mostly 120 TTSX and 131 Hammers out of it over the past few years, and this barrel is responsible for 5 clean one-shot harvests in that time, including a 310 yard shot on a TX whitetail last season with a 120 TTSX.
Only reason I'm selling is I want a CF .284 Win barrel for this rifle. That's it. Not a thing wrong with this barrel and if you're looking to build a lightweight 7mm-08, this is a great barrel for that project.
Be happy to share load data for the barrel and could help you out with components if you need them.
Barrel only for $250 shipped to you.
If you want the action too, we can talk. Send me a PM.
