I’ve been reading a lot of reviews on this gun. Just reaching out to see if anyone has any other input. Looking at the .280 ai for the caliber of choice. Mainly looking at it as a solid 500-600 yard deer gun with the occasional elk hunt along the way. Thanks for the feedback!

Thought I'd share this. Just found it and can't find anymore info on the internet web about it. I have a 110 tactical and it's a sub moa tac driver. I'm gonna call and see about in store price. I've been wanting to build my model 11 into this exact rifle. Might just have to pick one of these up...

My hunting partner used one in .300 WSM this year. He put a JP Enterprises titanium muzzle brake. We shot rocks one day from his cabin. We shot out to 650-700 yards with excellent accuracy. I was so impressed that I bought one as well.

Have one in 6.5 PRC and am happy with it. Shoots commercial 147 grain ELD-M very well and shoots 147 grain ELD-M handloads extremely well.

Took a Coues at 750 yards with it this past October. I'm taking it to Mexico in this coming January for another Coues hunt.

Awesome..glad to hear you guys are liking it! I’m just torn on the caliber. Leaning the .280 ai for a mild recoil and ballistics it offers. The 28 nosler and .300 wsm are intriguing as well but in a super lite mountain rifle I feel they will have some buck. Maybe with a good break it’s not a concern!?!

I was super excited about this rifle, had one in 308 for a few months. Was a pleasure to shoot and carry. The best way I can explain the rifle is a $300 rifle with a $900 barrel. The bolt somewhat smoothed out after a couple hundred rounds but still wasnt remotely smooth. The safety was pathetic and I just am not a fan of the accustock or trigger. Just my opinion, I really wanted to love it. Sold it and put the money towards a semi custom tikka.

The description above is spot on, I had one and sold it. My .02 if you care about function only you will be happy, if want smooth action, trigger, sexy finish you will be disappointed.

I have this rifle in the 280 AI. Shoots 162 ELDX sub MOA, scoped and loaded 7lbs 8oz. Enough weight for off hand for me and light enough for backpack hunts. Very adjustable comb and length of pull and trigger adjustments. Handles the weather great. 200yd zero 3 shot group pictured. Best backpack rifle I’ve ever had.

The 300 WSM was very mild to me with the brake. I could spot my shots through the scope. And I agree the action is very rough. But my concern is more for accuracy and weight. This gun exceed both those requirements.

For all those running this in 280 AI, what ammunition has produced the best results for y’all? Looking to save a little time and go with prior users’ experiences.

I’ve had two of them one in 6.5 prc and one 28 nosler. Both were good shooters but both had pretty rough bolt cycling and feeding.

I ended up selling both. Much prefer tikkas.

I've got one in 280AI that I purchased off a user here. I've swapped out the trigger for a Timney single stage and the stock for a Stockys VG2. The bladed trigger just wasn't my thing, and the stock is flimsy like you'll find on a lot of production rifles nowadays - I'd say it's stiffer than a Ruger American, but flimsier than a Tikka. It's 8.9lb with a Vortex Razor LHT 3-15x42, Rearden 2 port brake, SRS arca rail, and Rex MG7K can.

Been shooting handloads of 139gr LRX over H4350. These were grouping around 1.2" and speed is only 2900 or so, so I can spot impacts very easily and it's pleasant to shoot. No complaints at all with the cartridge so far. Softer shooting than my old 30-06 and it's been a one shot wonder on everything I've tried to kill. Big muley buck at 190yd, elk spike at 250yd, blacktail buck at around 400. Would be totally fine taking this gun out to 600 in the right conditions.

I had this rifle in a 280 AI. Put it in a Stocky's VG2 and man it was a shooter! Very accurate rifle but as others have mentioned the bolt/action is rough. Other than that great gun.

Yes, but I realized that I was talking about the Elite lightweight version not the regular lightweight version.

I probably would have bought one a few years ago in 6.5 CM or 308 if they made them with a 18” barrel.

The darn Proof Research CF barrel retails for $975, the receiver and trigger would be maybe $4-500, the stock maybe $150-200? It would cost me $1500-1600 for the parts, then smithing costs to assemble. I got mine for $1100 at Cabela's, it's worth a try.

I have a 6.5 CM that shoots .75 MOA. Very accurate and precise. However, it feels like I’m running a cheese grater on metal when I cycle the action. Meh, is the best I can say.

I think there are better options new in that price range.

I went with the elite instead of assembling from the normal ultralight to get the 20” barrel and no hassle. Costly but it checked all my boxes, little pop with an ACE brake and a little push with a can, very manageable at 8.4 lbs in 7PRC. Mine did not ship with LOP spacers but looks like someone on another forum is testing some spacers before the folder in the stock that are probably lighter anyway if I can get ahold of those.
