Savage 110 Ultralite 6.5 Creed

Cabelas bargain cave currently has the 110 ultralite with Proof barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor for $899. Rifle price is less then retail on just the barrel. Just a heads up since Cabelas is often is hit or miss on what is available for online purchases in the bargain cave.

Good deal. Mine was a hammer accuracy wise. The bolt was pretty rough though, as an early one so may have got better.

Definitely tempting. Have one of those in a 6.5 PRC and it’s a tack driver. The stock is pretty flimsy, but it’s an easy upgrade.

the Kimber will be nicer I bet the the savage shoots better.

I went to a tikka SL 6.5 creed and never looked back.

I went with a pure precision altitude for mine which was a huge improvement, but I don’t know if they still make them for these actions anymore

IMO this is the better deal. I’ve had mountain ascents and two of these, both of my 110ULs absolutely shoot. The bolt does feel like rough, but it’s not something that prevents me from putting rounds on animals. The other thing I will say is the savage has a lot more aftermarket support without having to head to a gunsmith.

I'm not talking about taking it home, I mean at the counter before doing paperwork. Are you committed to the purchase?

Also owned both. The Mt Assent action flutes make it a bit of a dog in terms of smoothness.

Regarding inspection, yes you do get to have a look at it before committing

Yes you can play with them and inspect prior to paperwork. Trigger lock will be in place so no dry firing fun.
