Only reason to buy .270 is if you're mainly using 130s.

I see no reason to buy a .270 if you're going to be using 150s and up.

The 270 was literally invented to provide shooters with better ballistics than the 30-06 up to 150gr.

If anyone actually needs more than what a 270 delivers, they probably need a cartridge that has magnum in its name.

I think the last gun I would want is an extremely light weight, savage, 30-06. I've handled that model before, the stock is a noodle, it uses savages horrible mags, with an okay trigger and sticky action. Something like a Howa carbon stalker/Tikka in 6.5/7mm-08/308 would be an easy choice over that IMO
