Your 147 results are exactly why it pays to test 10+ round groups
Did it. Left was 143 eldx right was 147 eldm. I definitely felt not good about 1 shot from each group. But I had two way away on the 143s. I 100% beleive a most of it is me. I am limited experienced in shooting light guns. I shoot monthly with my 20lb chassis 308 which is a completely different gun. (Every bullet touches everytime with that gun).

Eldx with flyers was 2.5 ish inches without the 2 flyers 1.1”
Eldm with flyers about the same 2.5 ish and without the one flyer 1.5”.

I think what this shows me is I need to get some bulk less expensive ammo and practice more.

Also my arken 4-16 sucks comfirmed zero 9 days prior and look how far it went up. Working on funds for a new scope. I was shooting it off a bipod. I will try bagging it next time.

If it moved that much from 9 days of doing nothing it's likely moving around shot to shoot too.
I am going to double check the rings later. They are mountain techs degreased and blue loctited and torqued to 22lbs If I remember corectly. I usually go a few pounds over whats recommended. But shit happens so I will check it again.

Edit- rings and scope base are solid. Just a scope issue. I am going to see arken will replace it. Keep it as a back up scope. I’ll prob just go swfa 3-9 or 3-15.

I was struggling to find out the proper torque for the action screws on my Sauer 100 so I reached out to them directly. They recommended 5 Nm (44 in-lbs) with locktite 243. Just in case anyone needed the specs.

Just snagged one of these in 6.5 Creedmoor. Is there anything to keep an eye out for when I get it? Are you guys doing the process of degreasing the action screws and then loctite/ torque them back? @Formidilosus I saw you mention the Burris XTR 2 piece bases.... but I think I saw only use the steel ones somewhere? If I can't find those any other suggestions?

Plan is to chop it to 16 inches
-SWFA 3-15 (inshallah)
-Warne Mtn Tech rings
-either run my current YHM resonator K or snag an OG 6.5

You will probably have brass hit the windage turret if you mount the scope low

Degrease the whole thing. They come pretty slathered.

Degrease and retorque the action screws (and the nut, interesting design feature) I use paint pen, but I think nail polish might be “better”

Amazon has/had some steel xtr bases for 700 pattern. eBay has some too.

The screws are 6-48, and the front one on mine bottomed out on the barrel threads, so I had to swap in a shorter screw.

The firing pin and spring were positively PACKED with grease. I chose to remove it with brake cleaner, but I’m not sure if that was smart or not.

Thanks, I saw in their online manual they recommend degreasing, can't seem to find their prescribed torque specs for everything, what did you end up going with for the action screws and that little nut on there?

65 inch-pounds. They suggest 44 I think. I disagree with them but that doesn’t mean you have to.

I've seen this talked about before. Is this like an "every 3rd round it will happen" thing or like a "its a thing that can happen but rarely does" thing?
My PRC did it every time until I mounted it higher, it bounced back into the loading port causing a jam, different cartridges may give different results
That was with a SWFA 3 to 9
Fortunately the high comb on the Sauer works well with a higher than normal mount
