Sauer 100 - Talk me out of it

Yes that is the answer I got from Blazer Group USA which owns Sauer. You can call them to confirm. Their rep said the threads would most likely be destroyed during the process. And so they do not rebarrel their actions.

I don’t need to call anyone. The Sauer 100 can be rebarreled like any other rifle.

Outstanding. I'm just relaying what Blazer Group told me. I just confirmed with them again 5 minutes ago.

I came into a Sauer 100 in 6.5 Creed. It's a hoot to shoot, shoots 130 ELDM's sub moa more often than not.
great trigger that is actually adjustable.
3 lug, 60 degree bolt.
5rnd truly flush mag AND replacement mags are available and affordable.
uses Rem 700 scope bases.
3 position safety

my only complaint is the safety moves so easy, sometimes I'll engage the safety by accident just running the bolt.

oh, and it not in a RokStok...yet.

375h&h & 300wm to Zimbabwe and it is a awesome weapon

Stagger stack 5 rnd mag in 308/Creed cases allowing 5 + 1.

carries like a ADL.


It also has a slightly negative comb almost at bore line. They shoot nice.

I have the Mauser M12 with the press-fit barrel. Blaser told me the same thing in that they won't re-barrel it. The difference in these barrels vs. most American actions/barrels is that the bolt locks into the lugs which is integral to the barrel (vs. the receiver). I'd love to see someone re-barrel one. It'll be a challenge for the average bear.

The magazines are great. Top loading capability and hold 5. Only magazine I like better is the one in my Sako 75.

you'll get an email saying they don't sell "stocks or barreled actions". When I called they stated they don't rebarrel actions. So you'd have to find a smith willing to take on the project.

Almost like they are just selling complete rifles..... I dont know of anybody who has sent a rifle back to the factory to have a new barrel screwed on

But in all seriousness - imagine if everyone skipped the Fuddlore and other poor advice about Remington actions, Leupold and Vortex scopes, Kuiu packs, etc etc and just went straight to stuff that works.

My guess is that if most of us knew 10-15 years ago what we know now thanks to Rokslide, we would have saved thousands.

And for that, I for one am personally thankful to @Ryan Avery, @Formidilosus, @Aron Snyder, and everyone else who makes this place what it is.

The barrel was used up and they wanted a factory barrel. The rifles had a sub moa guarantee at that time.

And before anyone flames my post I sent three emails and made three phone calls before getting an answer from Sauer. If you send them an email questioning them on rebarreling a Sauer 100 you'll get an email saying they don't sell "stocks or barreled actions". When I called they stated they don't rebarrel actions. So you'd have to find a smith willing to take on the project.

I’m not 100% sure but I think you’re correct, my understanding is sig has a propitiatory metric threaded barrel , that only they make to mate with the action
I don’t think your average smith can mate a different brand barrel without special equipment?
