I’m going to be hunting in Montana for the 1st time. Looking at renting a garmin inreach mini 2. Anyone have any other suggestions for Sat phones?

The newest iphone update allows you to send text messages via satellite, I used it my entire CO trip last week, worked great.

I rented a sat phone for a hunt a couple years ago. It was the first time using one and it’s nothing like they make it out in the movies. The reception isn’t great but it does work. As for messaging Zoleo or the iPhone messaging works good but is temperamental at times.
