Sangre De Christo Elk unit 86

Hey guys I drew a muzzleloader tag for unit 86,861 and 69, and I’ve already been down to do some scouting and put some boots on the ground as it’s only a couple hours from my house. My question is have any of you guys have hunted this unit during muzzleloader in recent years, if so what kind of success did you have. PM’s are fine.

That's units 86, 861, and 691. "69" is with 84 and a different tag. Wouldn't want you to get cited for being in the wrong unit.

I’ve looked at the statistics, I was kinda hoping to hear “we did really good” or “we didn’t see shit” type info.

I will tell you the area has been hit pretty hard lately with pressure. There will be an Amish/menonite horse camp in most every drainage in 86. Like the old gray mare
86 aint like she used to be

Yeah I have been warned about the large Amish community nearby setting up camps all over.

How bad is the drought affecting the area?

It’s pretty damn dry everywhere, wouldn’t say it’s any worse than anywhere else.
