If you are looking at a down coat or vest ...merino wool base layers that only you will see..look at trewgear.com. I just ordered some of the same stuff that KUIU sells but not in Camo. Same fabric manufacturer both with the merino wool and the down. But for way less money. I bought a down vest with hydrophobic down 850 fill ( in blue) for under $70. The same new wind of wool for base layers can be had for a steal. Check it out!I will Let you know how it works out when I get the vest. I ordered that off Amazon and was impressed by there stats so I went to there web-site and they are making what seems to be good stuff at a good price. Toray and Nuyarn. Sure worth looking at.

Have not used any of it yet other than the Super down sweater ..that in reality is a mid layer insulation of quix down and I like it. Bought the vest too as it was the first piece I bought and got that off of Backcountry gear.com. They are sized pretty right. Picked up a new yarn sweater in the outlet ...not my color of choice but Blue and bright and it came in the same canvas bag my KUIU merino base layers come in. Good stuff if you shop smart.

Did your find deals on anything other than their vest? Seems like on their website their prices are higher than Kuiu.

My favorite Merino company is Ibex. Best fitting, best quality, best warranty (actually outstanding) and I buy when they have big sales. The hunting clothes brands are good for outer layers, when you want a camo pattern. Good stuff.
