Anyone use the Salomon Quest Elements? How are these different than the Quest Tracker or Quest 4D? How is the fit?

Steve from Exo featured these as one of the synthetic boot options that he liked in their Experience Project video on boots/footwear.

There's a YouTube video comparing the two out there. I researched the difference and I haven't seen much. I had the 4D's back in 19' and they were decent, didn't hold up enough to get a second season out of them, but I'm going to try them again this year. Waiting for a day off to go try some on, if they have both I'll try and report back...

Thanks.
Yeah I totally know what I’m getting into regarding waterproofing and durability with these, but wondering if the comfort and ability to breathe and dry fast would outweigh that.

yea, I think the lighter weight outweighs the durability concern as well. I tried Kenetrek Corrie Hikers. They're heavier and more expensive, and I can get a second season out of them, but at a cost, both dollars/weight.

I found and watched the Youtube video. I didn't realize there was only about a 2 oz difference between the Quest Element and the 4 GTX. The Element to me wasn't quite supportive enough. I'm going to head to REI and try one a pair of the 4 GTX's...great thing about REI is I'm a member and I can hike with them outside and if they don't work out they will take them back.

I went to REI the other day with plans on getting the quest. Walked out with the Sportiva Nucleo's. Lighter and felt good. We'll see....

Nice. I tried on the Nucleos before and they are very light and flexible…. I’ve considered them as well. They seem like a 1.5 to 2 flex vs a 2.5 flex for the Quest ( on the 5 flex scale)

So I went to REI and and tried the Salomon Quests. Size 11 fit me best, but gave a nasty pinch on the top of my toes. Size 11.5 had way too much volume and slop. They were a no go. So just for shits and giggles I tried on a pair of La Sportica Aequilibrium LT’s…. Now they only had size Euro 46 in stock (which they label as 12.5 US). And I was like there is no way these are gonna fit… tried em on and they fit like a glove…and they honestly weren’t any stiffer than my Hanwag Alaska GTX or my buddies new Tatra Tops I tried on the other day. I thought they walked really well on flat ground. They were on sale for a wicked good price ($239) so I brought em home. They come in at 28 oz per boot for the size 46 Euro, which is right at 3.5 lbs per pair…. Not what I would call super light, but not heavy beasts either. For reference my 11.5 Wide Alaska GTX are 36 oz, and my Schnees Timberline 11.5 Wide are 32.5 oz per boot…
