Salomon Quest 4D GTX Hiking Boots at REI Outlet $160

Thank you!!!! Just ordered some....I had been about to pick up a "deal" at $185 off of Amazon. Need to retire my 2009 pair of these. Anyone who hasn't tried this boot is missing one of life's great pleasures.

Glad I could help a little. I picked up a pair myself for light duty work. Will be here tomorrow.

I also grabbed a spare 3 liter big zip platypus bladder for $25

I got a pair too! If you have these boots do you replace the foot beds? I tried on one boot last night after scouting for sheep. They seem to have pressure on the outer part of my foot on the bottom across from my arch? Just wondering as if a new pair of green super feet insoles do not change this I will look at the Scarpa Kailash boots. Probably gonna go up to the Denver Flagship store if this doesn't work and find a really good pair of lightweight boots for the sheep hunt I am currently scouting. Just wondering if the boot fits the same on anyone else? Bob.

I would suggest putting some miles on them, rei will take them back if they don't workout. I noticed some pressure at first but it went away quickly once worn. I have the orange super feet in mine.

I replaced my footbeds, but I replace them in almost everything (Oboz is about the only exception). Some say the Salomon's have enough support on their own, just not for me.

For me, these boots are light hiking, maybe light backpacking (unless a daypack I'd probably choose something else), but more so, I've been doing my workouts in them. They do have good ankle support and certainly comfortable, but just from running around at my brother's farm, I personally want more support in steeper, rough terrain. Your mileage may vary; I don't have great feet so they get fatigued without the right level of support - yours may not.
