After reading about this boot and wanting to replace my worn out pronghorns I decided I needed to try them. Im a member of promotive.com and guess what salomon is on there, if you are a member you have to check it out the price is too good to post. They just got a shipment in so they should have all sizes and colors, I got a 12.5 olive headed my way and they should get here before deer season.

I tried them on at rei and they seemed pretty good so hopefully I can run them. Even if they don't cut it for my backpacking boot I'm sure they are a significant improment over my worn out pronghorns for backups during regular season

I got a pair for my mountain goat hunt and love em. First time I put them on I did a back pack scouting trip and had no problems what so ever. Only did about 12 mi but it was in pretty rugged terrain.

BGG

I tried them on at rei and they seemed pretty good so I bought them, took them to montana and had a funky spot digging in at the tongue area, I reached in and poked it out and have loved them ever since

If this the gear deal section why are you keeping the deal a secret?

Promotive is a membership site, where you join a "team" and get access to the deals. I was just trying to alert other members that are on promotive that salomon was on there given the popularity of this boot

You are right about promotive having great deals! However, all the companies have you "agree" not to post the prices publicly. If you want to join promotive, go to the site and find a team. There are bunches of different ones. I joined originally in the outdoor media area and then moved to USAF. Military team memberships are good for 10 years. No need to requalify every year.

As for the boots, I think they are great! I have a pair of those and two pairs of X Ultras.

I am a member of promotive and every time I log into Salomon they never have the boots in any sizes other than a 7 lol. Also I log into my promotive account and follow it to the Salomon page and get a price, the access the general page through Google as a non member with no discount and the price is the same. Maybe everything n the entire site is on sale and the discount is not applicable??

You apply through the website and get approved by submitting proof. Not every retailer is open to every team, but most are. I'm a veteran so that's how I got in.

Keep in mind that some deals aren't that great. Promotive is always out of stock on a lot of good stuff and the discount is marked from msrp. And pro motive adds a service charge on top of the price. Add in shipping and I've found you can get better deals elsewhere.

But I have purchased from there and will again.
