Hey guys wanted to change my bipod up on my T3X I'm looking at The Dauntless bipod from T3 Optics and it mounts through a Picatinny or ARCA. I'm debating whether to put a Hunters rail from Salmon River Solutions or just a 2-in Picatinny up front, im not a fan of sling stud mounted bipods. I like the thought of the hunters rail because I won't have to drill and mount a t-nut in my factory stock but Ive been told the full length arca rails can make the rifle uncomfortable to carry. I also don't like that the sling stud on the hunters rail is facing forward because it will impede with the bipod and ny tripod isnt the best for shootimg off of. What do you guys think Hunters Rail or 2-in Picatiny up front?1000004634.webp1000004645.png

I put the hunters rail on my Tikka. I didn’t want to deal with adding a t-nut and I also shoot off a tripod occasionally. Bolted it onto the sling stud hole and the forend bolt. Have not had any issues to speak of.

It’s not a big deal to carry the rifle with the full rail on there and I haven’t found the sling stud to interfere with anything on the front.

Another thing to consider is that arca will extend out a bit wider than the forend up near the sling stud.

You could always try out the EZ Pic from SRS. Gets you the pic rail without having to drill.

I had a hunters rail on my tikka for a short minute I didn't like the way the full arca felt across the back of my shoulder when I carried it with a sling while wearing a thin shirt.
