Has there been any updates or changes in the TRG line in the last few years that anyone knows of? I had a green 42 in 338LM A few years ago after they went to the 1- 10 rifling but have not heard of there have been any other changes.

The TRG-42/22 had some minor changes. The TRG-42 had faster rifle twist added probably around the same time they updated the trigger group. The newer triggers have a wider paddle safety inside the trigger guard so you can operate it without needing to put your finger inside the guard (you can hit it from either side). The newer trigger was also changed to limit the kinds of (bad) adjustments users could do to it.

The result is a more reliable field trigger, but not quite as good feeling to me as the older style for target shooting. Both triggers are great, but if you plan to use the rifle in the field more then the newer gen maybe is better. If you are more target shooting and know how to adjust the trigger correctly (most people don't and break them which is why they changed it most likely.), then the older one is better.

Other changes included a beefier bolt handle and I believe a stronger attachment/pivot for the bolt slide release which could sometimes fail under hard use.

Basically, the newer rifles are refinements and not groundbreaking changes like the even newer TRG models that were hit with a picatinny bomb.
