The next candidate for clearance from my gun safe is this absolutely beautiful Sako L579. This was a rifle I always wanted ever since missing out on one at the Roanoke gun show in 1995. I searched high and low to find a very nice one and ended up with this one. I've never been more pleasantly surprised when I opened a box with a rifle purchased online. Based on the external appearance, I believe it spent most of its life as someone's safe queen. There are a couple of very slight safe marks on the wood, but it is otherwise pristine. After spending much time and effort finding and buying the rifles I coveted as a teenager and young adult, I discovered suppressors. I'm not going to modify a gem like this to make it suppressible, so it is unlikely I will ever hunt with it or shoot it again. As such, it should go to someone who will use it (or who at least wants to add it to a Sako collection). As with the CZ, since neither of my brothers wants it, RokSliders get first shot on it. Surely someone here will pull the trigger on this lovely rifle?

The rifle is very accurate. I've shot an 8-shot group at 1.452" (May 2024) and a 7-shot group at 1.52" (September 2025) with it, using Hornady Whitetail 100-grain factory loads. Given the amount of shooter error apparent in each group (vertical stringing), I am confident it is far more accurate than I am. I also used it to drop a nice buck last year (offhand, one shot, high lung shot at 60 yards, DRT).
The rifle comes with a Bausch and Lomb Elite 3000 scope, the mounts, and the nice leather sling.
Overall length 42.75"
Barrel length 23"
LOP 13.75"
Asking $1100 (includes shipping to your FFL). Venmo, Zelle, or check. Feel free to PM me to get a FaceTime look at this rifle if you are interested.

I took my Sako L579 out to the range yesterday. It’s one of the prettiest rifles I own and has historically been very accurate. I shot a nice buck with it last year. I recently changed the scope on it (put on an older B&L Elite 3000), so I figured I should sight it in, even though I will probably never hunt with it again.
I used Hornady American Whitetail 100-grain ammo.
After shooting the .243, I did an interrupted Carl...
