From what I have gathered reading here, Tikkas are known to have generally slower barrels. (Correct me if I am wrong here)
My question is, do sakos have the same reputation? My Tikka experience is exactly zero and Sako experience is limited to one rifle, a Finnlight chambered in 243. I built a load and killed a few does with it last season. The load i settled on was a 95g Combined Technology (NBT) over IMR 7828. Groups were right around MOA for 10 shots, but velocity was less than I was hoping for. Velocity isn't that important for what I was planning, so I didn't sweat it.
Right now I am waiting on a rifle to come back from being cut and threaded. Feels like it's taking forever. So naturally, I am getting the cart before the horse and thinking about what I will try in it. Guess I say all that to ask, do sakos have a reputation for slower barrels or should I move on from 7828 to a faster powder?
