Sako 90 Peak recoil lug

I’m thinking about picking up a Sako 90 Peak in 6.5 Creedmoor, but I can’t seem to find a clear answer to this.


From the few pictures I’ve found online, it almost looks like the small recoil lug just bears directly against the carbon fiber stock.


Is there actually a steel bedding insert or steel recoil lug interface molded into the stock, or does the recoil lug rest directly against the carbon fiber?


Has anyone pulled the action out of their 90 Peak or know for sure how Sako designed the bedding system? I’d love to hear from someone who’s had one apart. Thanks!

I found this image, which seems more confusing.


It came from this article written by our good friend JVB: https://www.shootingtimes.com/editorial/sakos-mountain-90-peak-rifle/537496. The groove in the reciever for the lug is just forward of the front screw, but it doesn't seem to be in the stock.

haven't plucked mine apart yet, tried the action screws to see if snug and I couldn't farmer anymore onto them so they were more than snug so I just left it alone but go to 9 minute mark here to see it all apart
