I just bought a Sako 90 Bavarian in .375 H&H and am having some trouble with scope bases. I purchased Tikka Optilock 17mm dovetail bases, but with the full length action of the .375 I can’t get my scope far enough back toward the rear of the gun with the standard bases. I feel like an extended base that brought the front ring closer to the ejection port would solve this easily. But, I can’t find one. Anyone have a solution? I even tried calling Beretta USA. All I was told there is that Sako/Tikka hasn’t come out with an extended base yet. I have a hard time thinking there isn’t a solution out there somewhere other than maybe just buying an LVPO scope, which I prefer not to do.
