I'm trying to choose a scope for a Sako 90 Bavarian in .375 H&H. I'm limiting the options to Leupolds because I'm cashing in a bunch of Cabela's points and gift cards that have been accumulating dust for years, and there isn't much else they sell that intrigues me. But, if anyone has another option Cabela's sells I'm open to suggestions. The rifle will not be used for dangerous game. It will go on an Alaska moose hunt here soon, be used for elk and deer, and hopefully go on a plains game safari at some point. I figure the load I plan on shooting should be capable of killing any of those animals to about 500 yards, but I'm hoping the shots are much closer than that. I have other rifles for anything past 500. I have never used an illuminated reticle scope so I debate whether they are that helpful or not. The prices listed are the approximate prices I think I can get one for given the deals Cabela's is running right now. I appreciate the feedback.

If I was absolutely forced to go with a Beaverton, out of those options I’d pick the VX-5 3-15x44 windplex. Dial for EL and hold wind. Hope that it adjusts when needed.

Not sure how much you have value wise in credit/cards at Cabelas or if you’re willing to add some cash, but cabelas does carry NF stuff. Just looking at cabelas website I am shocked by how few products they have from lines of some great manufacturers. Pretty crappy retailer for scopes and optics these days. They don’t even carry the nxs 2.5-10 or a 44 mm objective Trijicon that I can find.
