Sako 90 action thread

does the model 90 still have the sako extractor?
It’s the same 3 lug design as the Sako 75 and 85 and the same claw extractor, but they switched to the twin plunger ejectors from the Sako TRG action to alleviate the issues they had with the 85s throwing shells back into the action.

How did the build turn out? Any opinions on the 90 action?

Anybody out there that can measure the depth of the flutes on the Finnlight/Peak/Adventure models on these 90s? Curious if they’re similar to Tikka Superlight (shallow) or deeper, thanks.

I think they are exactly the same but that's just from using both, no measurement. I'll try to remember to take a look tonight and verify.

Word of caution when swapping barrels, headspace as checked by the OP is important and the method described is adequate, BUT there's one more important check to make and that is bolt nose clearance. If the bolt touches the barrel it'll shoot awful and if it's excessive it can allow case rupture.

You can easily check it with a piece of solder across the bolt face. Arrange the solder so it is interfering with the bolt nose at the point closest to the barrel. If you don't have depth mics this is the easiest way.
