Sako 85 Replacement Stock Options? Opinions?

I have a really really awesome shooting and accurate Sako model 85 Greywolf in .260 Remington. I was hoping there was a replacement, light weight stock option for it.

I’m planning on taking it out of the safe more this winter for long range coyote hunting and I’d like it to be easier to hike with.

Anyone with experience with a good replacement lightweight stock for this rifle?

McMillan would be a good option - one of their Edge fill stocks. They make various patterns you could order that would fit your rifle. Not cheap but worth it IMHO.

Hey. What was the lead time from Fierce? I put in an order inquiry on their site so hopefully they get back to me soon.

What does your 85 weigh in at with the new stock? Thanks!

If I remember right it was around 6-8 weeks, closer to 6 though.

I can't remember the exact weight off hand right now. I wrote it down but it's at home I'll post it this evening. It's somewhere around 9lbs, pretty sure under 10lbs. I do remember it was weighed unloaded and empty magazine but field ready with scope, mounts, bipod. I also have that rifle apart at the moment, so I can try to weigh just the bare stock for you as well if you want?

I'd like to give you a forewarning as far as Fierces customer service goes. I'm not bashing Fierce in any way and I know there are others on here who have had less than stellar experiences themselves.
Getting through to someone or trying to get a call back can be a struggle. (Especially this time of year during "Show Season") be patient.
I know there has been different complaints by other individuals as well. So just be aware of that. If you do decide to go that route I wish you a seamless, pleasant experience.

All that said, I really do like the stock, it's well built and fit the bill for me. I think thier product(s) are great. Most other people who have made purchases from them seem to think thier products are great as well.
