RYAN LAMPERS CRIMINAL COMPLAINT | GRITTY RESPONSE

I've never heard of either of these two guys, but anytime I hear about something like this I find myself asking "Why?" and I'm not necessarily talking about why they did what they allegedly did. I just don't understand why so many people introduce publicity to something they enjoy so much. It always seems to bring some level of scrutiny and toxicity into play. Maybe I'm an anomaly, but I don't strive for that kind of attention brought to any aspect of my life. Even further, I don't understand why anyone publicizing their hunting would willfully break any laws, whether on or off the camera.

I don't know what charges or allegations this guy faces as I haven't paid attention. I hope that if he's guilty, his punishment is fair, and that he learns his lesson and makes better decisions moving forward. Assuming he is actually guilty of wrongdoing, it is shameful for any of his friends or colleagues, past or present, to defend or attempt to justify his actions. If he is not guilty, I hope that he is treated fairly in the court of public opinion. That is about as deep as I wish my involvement in this case to go.

Watched the whole video . Never heard of these two before.
My opinion is he’s just another egotistical, self serving, average intelligence, internet wannabe, that is monetizing wildlife.
Not someone I would want to share a hunting camp with. Seems as though he is a name dropper ,trying to protect him self as well as trying to throw others under the bus. The dude is one of the biggest Drama Queens I had the misfortune to listen to in quite some time. My opinion is he’s is a douche.

I stopped listening at everything he ever did with Lampers was by the book. Didn’t they have to pull bear videos for filming in a wilderness area without a permit?
Permit to capture video? Why would I need a permit or better why the hell should the state have the power to require that permit? This would be a great example of an absurd regulation that should be ignored. If this ever becomes a state regulation in an area I'm hunting, I will video every hunt I do and I'll post it whether anyone watches it or not.
I don’t have a dog in the fight, but when I see a guy that age with veins popping out of his arms it tells me all I need to know.

The camera turns all these guys into bad decision makers.

P.S. the comments are pretty funny
It tells you that they work infinitely harder than you do? Why do you resent people that are willing to put in work that you aren't?
This would be like the star of your favorite sports team getting caught doping. Would you just say who cares? If your kid lost the state champion wrestling match to a kid that came out as doping would you say who cares? You get the point, or you're just being ignorant.
If its a non contact sport then that's exactly what I'd say. Who cares? Why should I? Why do you?
I wish as part of the inevitable plea deal Lampers takes, Brian wouldn’t be allowed to use the internet for hunting purposes.

The world would be a better place for it.
I never want the state to have this kind of authority over the press. The world was a better place when the internet was the wild west.

I would

That comment is why most guys are infatuated with this crap.
I’m 50 with bicep veins and get out of shape men comment negative all the time.
Get off your ass and you would have a bicep vein or some antlers on the wall.
Busting a guy because he’s in shape,really.
It gets old but is funny at the same time.
That’s like saying you drive a diesel so you must be a redneck.
Lots of stupid comments in these threads.
I dont like or dislike any of these influencers but do enjoy some of there content.
I’m in shape for my age, haha. I think you missed my point, though….lots of guys cheat to get results as they age.

What exactly is cheating? As a man if you're not monitoring and working to keep you're hormones at the optimum level after 30, you're only cheating yourself.

Such a gritty response. My favorite may have been his lie in the comments regarding his clean record
Right. The charges may have been dropped but he admitted to taking a predator in Idaho through the improper means of transferring a tag from another big game species. Clean record maybe, but anytime you have to make a special podcast addressing charges, I wouldn’t call it “flawless.”

I was an advid follower of Gritty for a couple years. I ended up buying my .338 weatherby prior to a moose hunt largely based on their reviews. I love that gun. Its absolutely fantastic, if not expensive.

However, his videos started to change and got very very heavy on sponsored gear. Like everything was sponsored and it was hard to tell the truth from sponsored. I think his bear hunt on the e bikes was around the last one I watched.

That said, in my view, this video is sad. He is very defensive and outright hostile at times. Bringing up his sexual relations (which has discussed before) was a very odd moment and honestly very out of place. Bring up that he doesn't know what is going on in his personal life, also odd. The random name dropping of B Miller aanswered.

I didn't go into the comments, but judging by the ton on this thread, it sounds equally sad.

Given how oddly defensive this was, it raises more questions then he anssered. To me, its very clear he's concerned about losing his sponsorships. But how he's gone about it... im not sure if the strategy will be effective.

He could have condensed all of this down to about 90 seconds.

Hey guys, many of you have asked me to talk about the recent news regarding Lampers. As many of you know, Ryan and I have a history of collaborating, but I haven't worked with him in about 18 months, and I was not present during the time period in question.

I know many of you are concerned and have strong feelings about this. I've been seeing a lot of your comments and messages, and I want you to know I hear you. The situation is serious, with charges filed, and it's a reminder of the importance of ethical conduct in the outdoors.

I don't have all the details, and I'm not here to pass judgment. But I want to be clear that I stand for the values of fair chase, respect for wildlife, and accountability. It’s important that we all remember that everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty, but that we also acknowledge the seriousness of the allegations.

I'll be watching as this unfolds, and I appreciate your understanding and for holding these values with me. Thanks for listening. /watching / reading whatever"

Bam done. No drama. No "ive only ever been with one woman " no other nonsense.

I’ve always disliked Brian call, he seems like a douche ( not because of the forearm veins, that’s based, all men should workout) Honestly though Ryan seemed like a cool guy, I’m hoping he didn’t do anything wrong.

As far as the comments in this thread, don’t forget guys, everyone makes mistakes.

I got your point, you automatically passed judgment on a guy.
Way worse than getting a criminal charge that they obviously had some evidence it.
You have no evidence and think god your not a cop.

I think W.C. Fields said, “If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullsh!t.” I have usually heard that referencing lawyers but it looks like it applies to some hunting influencers, too.

This would be like the star of your favorite sports team getting caught doping.

...while having taken his slot from someone else every time he cheats.

Every poached buck is an opportunity denied someone else - denied to someone else putting integrity, conservation, fair play, and being a civil human being above the status of a rhinestone trophy.

A permit to film commercially on USFS, BLM, and State permits in most states. Note, Commercial. The, anything being filmed for monetary or IN KIND purposes, realized, expected or implied. That’s the important part these days. Just filming for your little YouTube channel, not selling tickets for viewing or selling it? How about expecting to get enough views and subscribers to eventually get monetized, or you dropped enough names to get some gear in lieu of cash? They’ll want permits. You filming your whitetail hunt to show your wife and buddy, they won’t care. The little YouTube content creator ( threw up in my mouth) that has a couple videos up, 100 views and 3 subs probably won’t either. Film permits aren’t new. There’s a whole list of both commercial and non commercial activities ( think large wedding) that you need a permit for.

One thing by the comments on the video that makes me wonder. How often do people pop across unit boundaries to kill stuff? I cant believe how many folks are not worried or think its not a big deal that he had to cross a damn river to kill something.

Im thinking this is a lot more common with the general population of hunters.
