Any Russell Moc experts on here? Wife found me these and I can’t find these exact ones on Russell’s website kind of curious what they are. Maybe a version of their PH’s? Leather doesn’t look like normal smooth leather. She got em because she knows I’ve always wanted a pair mainly for quail, pheasant etc hunting but I’m not sure if I’m in love with the fit or not and may want an all leather pair. Might just need to learn to love em and not look a gift horse in the mouth since they’re unworn lol but figured I’d see if anybody on here knew what I had here. Thank y’all

Yeah they look like some version of the ph's or maybe thula thula's. I have 2 pairs of custom all leather triple vamp thula thula's and a pair of the south 40 birdshooters with zero drop heels and wide toe boxes, got em before they changed ownership a bit ago and upped their prices/changed the way they do customs. I love mine, some folks on here havent had as good of an experience with Russell's tho

Thanks Cameron! The south 40’s are what I’d really like to have! Idk I’m still not sure on exactly what I’ll do with em…would you have any idea if these were before the ownership change? I did read where that changed up a lot with their boots

I have no idea on that, but you might just give em a call tomorrow or send an email with a picture of these. Im sure someone there can answer that easily. I dont think much has changed in the boot construction side of the house, just the price and business model. They used to be able to do customs based off measurements you sent them, but now they will only do them if they measure you in person at their place or a trade show and they cost multiple times more than what I paid for my pairs. Sucks cause I wanted some customs for my wife but now it just seems too hard and expensive

They probably still do runs of those exact boots tho, Im pretty sure they still make the ph's in different configurations. If you do keep them make sure to oil them with obenauf's often and use a boot dryer daily to keep them in good condition

Those are phs, chocolate weather tuff leather, newporter sole, 1/4” heel lift. Made before current owners as have double leather bottoms, no longer offered in the ph. Have a pr similar with airbob sole, great pheasant and quail boot as long as its dry. Canvas will wet out. I do use an arch support insole as without my feet ache after an all day hunt.
