I have decided to completely overhaul my hunting rifle arsenal. No more Gunwerks for me. After many many hours of pouring over all my options, and many messages with Dale Robinson of Evolved Ballistics (who was very informative and readily answered all my questions) I chose to start out by purchasing a Proof Glacier/Titanium in 6.5PRC through Dale and Evolved Ballistics.

The rifle is done and ready. Dale is just awaiting the ARC M10 rings and the Leupold MK5 3-18 scope to arrive from me. Dale will then mount scope and do load development with the Berger 140 VLD H and provide me with all the data.

Rifle Specs Proof Research Glacier/TI
Lone peak Titanium Razor action built for Proof
Jewell trigger
22” Proof Sendero CF Bbl
APA Little bastard Brake
Carbon fiber stock
ARC M10 35 MM low rings
Atlas bipod
Pinned 20 MOA pic rail.

I am looking forward to getting this rifle and kill a few mule deer and possibly Whitetail with it this year.

I’m going to try to keep this thread up to date and will update as I receive rifle shoot it ETC.

Here is a picture of it Dale sent me today. 3A88C772-6F28-418B-9651-1E905C04E5B0.jpegFA1BC3C5-57CC-4B90-AEB1-B0133676C8DC.jpeg

Joel why are you not using Gunwerks rifles anymore?

And what stock is that? Looks like a great build too

Dale informed me that a shipment of the New Nightforce NX8 2-20 is due so we decided to go with that scope instead. Updates as soon as the scope arrives and pictures are sent.

Just got word that the rifle is finished up with load development. Specs as per Paul are as follows.

Berger 140 VLDH
2945 out of a 22 inch tube
.21 group

I’m excited to get this thing and see how well I can shoot it. I hope I can do it justice!!!

Rifle has a date with a few mule deer and a antelope this fall.

Will update this thread next week if I’m able to shoot it some.

Rifle showed up today. Lets get this thread rolling. Here are a few pics unboxing the rifle.
The rifle was shipped in this cardboard box and inside that was this very nice padded soft case with plenty of pockets for ammo, ear protection, wind meter ETC.

All the information along with a test target was provided inside the case. Test target measured .21. The atmospheric conditions the rifle was finished at along with the detailed load data, velocity, and drop data were all included on this sheet. F1032B5D-BFB2-4E1A-A23A-92DA1ACBCBD7.jpeg

Here is the rifle. I really like how this rifle feels and balances. The components this rifle is put together with are quality through and through. The fit and finish are outstanding as one would expect. The NX8 is a perfect range for hunting, although I don’t feel the reticle is useable below about 6 power. The size and weight of the NX8 fit this rifle well. I have loaded the data into my Zeiss RF 10x42 and plan on running it through its paces out to 600 tomorrow.

Great looking rifle Buddy! Looks like a shooter also. I’m sure the mule deer and antelope are in trouble!

The rifle as pictured with Atlas bipod weighs a nice 8 pounds 13 ounces.

Super impressed to say the least. Here are a few of my targets from today’s first session with this rifle. The mirage got very bad by 9AM and was battling that but as you can see she is a shooter!!! I shot my personal best three shot group at 100 yards today. Please keep in mind I consider myself a average at best shot.
First pic is from 100 yards. Second pic is two shots at 200 yards. Third pics is three at 400. 9760634F-BC8E-4C64-979A-18159C4FA75F.jpeg6FFD95DB-F808-49A4-8BF8-FD58CDF1D486.jpeg3E513387-B409-439D-9BE7-BD9CFB21BADF.jpeg
