Does anyone have any experience with the Ruger precision rifle in 6.5 prc Accuracy? Handling? Upgrades?

My 300prc is a .5" gun with Horandy ELDMs, never shot ELD-X. I imagine the 6.5 will shoot atleast as well. Pulled the spring for a 12oz trigger. Super heavy though.

You might also consider the tikka ctr or tac a1, or the sako s20 for similar style rifles with smoother actions. Tikka will be easily upgradable, sako is itself an upgrade.

An RPR will run you about $1550 and I think with a little more money there are better options out there. The RPR factory stock is clunky and hard to adjust. Even once it is adjusted the comb is small and flimsy. The bolt is also very rough and overall the gun feels unfinished.

If you are looking for a chassis rifle that is great right out of the box look no further than the Tikka T3X Tac A1.

For a Backcountry/long range rifle I'd pick up a bergara b14 and aftermarket stock for a similar price point.

I have the Ruger RPR as my 22LR trainer and it's great for that, but nowhere near the build quality of mid tier rifles...

I shot a RPR in 6.5 cm and it was a 1 hole gun at 200-250 yards. 3 shots in 1 hole the only time ive ever shot one.

I have one in 6CM, but it is heavy, awkward, and takes up too much room in my safe. While the stock folds, I haven't found that feature yesterday.

Definitely a range gun. I cannot image trying to hunt with it.
