Ruger M77 Hawkeye African

I have a quick question. I picked up a new M77 Hawkeye African in 35 whelen to replace my older TC whelen. It has the banded sling adapter on the barrel. Do any of you run a bipod on these and are you using the adapter on the barrel or replacing the top screw in the forend and replacing it with a sling stud to attach the bi pod? If you are using a certain brand what is it? Harris, Spartan, etc.......

I use Wiser precision quick stix and haven’t used a sling in years.
