Anyone here carry the ruger lc9? How's the current model work for you? Looking at a new handgun for concealed carry. Looking at the glock 26, smith and Wesson shield and the ruger. I've already got a 40 cal, so this one will be a 9mm.

I have the Glock 26 but carry the LC9s when I need to deep conceal.

It's a good little pistol and functions fine. I don't like the standard LC9 with the little thumb safety because it's too easy to miss it when drawing and a pain to re-engage.

I have a glock 43 9mm. And I really like it. Wife has a smith & Wesson Shield 9mm. I don't think U could go wrong with either one. I no nothing about the little ruger. We did have the rc9c. And we had problems with malfunctions. And so did a friend of ours. It didn't matter what ammo either. So it had to go...

I have the older version of the LC9 and a S & W shield in 40.

The LC9 stock has a very long, relatively stiff pull trigger. I traded out the trigger bar and seer and it's much better.

I definately prefer the shield, I put fiber optic/night sites on it. I like that it carries well and is big enough in my hand to shoot well and stay on target. It's small but narrow and deep enough to hold well. It's nice edc.

I carry a 9mm shield. The trigger is a little stiff for my liking so I have an Apex kit on order along with night sights. Otherwise, it's an excellent little carry rig.

I have the LC9 and the LCP, both with the Crimson Trace lasers. I carry my G20 a lot, but when I'm wearing clothes that don't conceal that well I carry the LCP in a back pocket. I don't carry the 9 much.

The apex kit will solve the problem nicely. I installed it and like the results.

Incedentally the new shields are supposed to have a light trigger in stock form.

OP, you might also handle the S & W Bodyguard if you're looking at 380 auto.. Personally I like it better than the LCP but ymmv.

You should give springfield a look see. My current carry is a mod2 in 45 acp. 13 rounds at the ready. Their nine would be a little more comfy am sure to carry.

Might want to check out the M&P 9C as well. I have a shield 9 too but almost always prefer to carry the bigger 9C, the grip is slightly shorter than the shield so it conceals easier for me even though its thicker. Also, carries more rounds.

I just picked up a couple little Ruger .380 LCP's, one for me and one for my wife. I've been carrying mine around in my front pocket without any problems. Both of these have Crimson Trace laser sights, which are kind of nice. They cost $440 in AK. The only other place I looked at them was on gun broker and I don't think I could've got it for much, if any, cheaper.

Thanks for the input guys. Handled them all today and the glock 43 and the shield feel best. Will handle them again and buy the one I'm drawn too.

Read some ammo reviews. Must be a stronger slide spring as did not like the lighter loads, which do seem close to squib loads, but the sig can handle them

Both the shield and Glock 43 will server you well. I went with the 43 and am really happy with it (i've been a glock shooter for a long time), over 500 rounds through it with no issues. I always recommend to replace the sights and get a good holster so factor that in too.

I polish the feed ramp on all of my glocks, in addition to the above advice.

I've got a Shield in 9mm with the Apex trigger kit and new night/fiber optic sights. Love the feel of this gun. My wife has the LC9s, and it's not as fun to shoot. It's a little smaller so it's harder to hold, and the trigger is definitely not as nice. She just bought herself a G43 to see it she can shoot it better, and it's a much nicer gun than the Ruger. Fiber optic front, much shorter reset and the ergonomics are much nicer. It feels slight smaller than the Shield but still fits my hand well enough. We haven't shot it as she's been busy and won't let me shoot it first ;).

The LC9 does fit in a front pocket better than the Shield, so I may keep it just for that.
