Is it stainless underneath the cerecote?

No. The african is blued. I always cerakote my blue rifles to protect them.

Oofff.... maybe I was thinking about the Alaskan or another model. She's a beautiful rifle.... was just hoping she was stainless underneath the cerecote.

The alaskan is nice but with only a 20 inch barrel you might as well buy a 3006 instead of the 300 win.
