Ruger charger 22

Can I see some charger 22s that are currently being used for small game hunting? I have a T2 right now and I’ve found it’s not the most efficient for hunting.

Contemplating GPO, Discovery optics, vector, and eotech since they all have a 6-8” length scope.

that looks really similar to my build, i went with a whistle pig barrel and the ar buffer tube folder though. love the convenience of it for a grouse gun,

I built a short barreled 10/22 charger but didn’t like the lack of capabilities it had. I swapped the barrel out, 12” to a 16” and put it in a chassis. I like it way better now.

Yeah they got rid of it and released new 10/22 SBRs.

I saw those. I wouldn’t mind one but seems like a pain in the ass to get one.

Hope to put an integral suppressed barrel on mine with a 2-7ish optic for grouse and whatnot. What's a lightweight chassis, that can take a folding brace?

Yeah the extra hassle of traveling out of state with them turns me off. I wish I would have snagged a charger last year when I was eyeballing one.

That’s what I was just thinking. I’ve wanted one for years I was just lazy or whatever about buying one. Maybe the funds/availability just never aligned for me but I assumed they would be around awhile (and they were).

True, but can you buy one through the mail and have it sent to your door??? Last I knew not just any FFL could accept restricted items.

Odin makes 3 options for lightweight chassis for the charger 22 or clones. There are others but I like the Odin.

It's still a firearm. You cannot do that with any firearm. Most FFLs have the NFA thing on their license.

For purely dumping magazines and sending rounds down range:

Ruger charger, 22LR, with a franklin armory binary trigger and a folding AGP stock capable of housing a suppressor.

Not inherently accurate in binary mode but the giggle switch sure is fun. Pricey, too!

Look up the couple of videos on YT from the 22 plinkster.

There's a couple FRTs out there for the 10/22 now. And they're a lot cheaper.

That’s what I’m saying, maybe I worded it wrong. The FFL local to me can’t handle NFA stuff.

Most FFLs absolutely do not have an SOT. Its certainly way more common than it used to be. But still not the norm.

I too fell into the comfortable reality that the 10/22 Charger would always be around and available. I wanted one in the takedown version for a grouse gun/ground squirrel gun when out bow hunting, bear hunting, or just hanging out in the woods. I decided it was time to get one this spring and couldn't find one new. Looked around for a while and started looking on gunbroker. Everytime I found one with a few goodies on it they went for over $1000.00. I finally found one with a low starting bid and bid on it. Guess it was too ugly for anyone else?

I ordered some stuff for it while it got shipped and while I was away at work. Picked it up the other day and put the add-ons on it. Going to go shoot it this evening. Think I'll call it "The Cougar "...

She's a beaut... Did not come with the pistol brace.


All kitted out. Pistol brace is a folder.


All broke down. Should be very packable in smaller storage areas.


Put away in the case. Lots of room for storage in the 3 pockets on the top flap.
