I just ordered one. I'm an occasional predator hunter , now on a small fixed income budget. I can call coyotes right out of my back yard. I have a Burris 4.5-14 FF II sitting around to put on top. Years back I got an American standard model for my grandson's step brother, since my grandson was shooting a 243 as his first deer rifle and wanted both boys to shoot the same rounds. It was a tack driver right out of the box.

This isn't exactly an expensive rig, but I think it'll shoot well with my careful hand loads. My question is are there any tricks to making the Ruger shoot it's best?

I've been using an old Savage 340 in 222 with a Weaver K4 and my Valmet 12/222 BBF with a Vari X 2.5-8 for many years, but I wanted something to reach out another 100 or so yards easily. The Valmet with copper plated BB shot or #4 buck 12 gauge ammo has been a great close-in option.
