I like that feature on the X bolts a lot. Thing is, it’s a different class of rifles. About 2X the price. My go to Christensen is 3x plus. For the $, those Americans are shooters down range. They do have their faults in bolt slop and rough safety, but shoot for the price.
You got my attention. Sounds like a really solid set up for the East.Just got in a Leupold VX-3HD 1.5-5x20 for my Predator in .308. The Warne Mtn. Tech rings should be here soon and I need to order some brass and a shell holder. Have a box of
165 gr. Hornady Interlocks to load up.
Gonna be my new Appalachian gun.
Reporting back as I said, but wishing I had a better experience.. They replaced the barrel for what reason I have no idea, this new one just has more freebore so maybe they did a reamer update and wanted to rule that out? Anyways, didn't fix the original issue. Still jams. They specified that they used 103 ELD-X for the functions check because that's what I told them I shoot, Hornady spec COL is 2.79" for that round, I stuffed one all the way down to 2.725" and it still jams. I called them today and they swear up and down that they absolutely wouldn't have let it leave if it jammed a single time out of the 12 rounds they fired through it while mag fed, and I call complete BS. So I either have to send it back again, or ask a buddy if I can come hang out in the machine shop after hours. That is exactly what is happening with mine. I will get ahold of Ruger and see about sending it back in for them to check it out. Thanks!
Thats unfortunate they didnt fix the issue. I havent messed with or shot mine in a few months maybe it isnt even worth sending it in if they arent going to fix it.Reporting back as I said, but wishing I had a better experience.. Update on the Ruger warranty, finally found some factory 108 eld-m in stock and was able to provide a video of the issue they asked for. Got an email back today saying the tech immediately identified that there are supposed to be retainer pins in the mag well to stop the magazine from being seated too deep causing the jam issue, and they said to send it in. Hopefully they fix it this time.Thats unfortunate they didnt fix the issue. I havent messed with or shot mine in a few months maybe it isnt even worth sending it in if they arent going to fix it.
