Rubber knife handles

Wondering about different experiences with rubber handles on knives, like on the handle of the Buck Vanguard. How well do they tend to hold up over time? Obviously it depends on the quality of the rubber, but I'm interested to hear how different ones have held up.

I have a Cold Steel Master Hunter, my dad bought it for me as a 'second' circa 2000/2001(?) and it has held up very well. It certainly doesn't look new anymore but I expect it to last the rest of my days if I don't lose it first (I've lost a ton of knives over the years).

It's hands down my favorite handle material. I could argue that the blade is too heavy for a 'backcountry hunting' knife when weight matters, but otherwise I absolutely love it and have grown comfortable disassembling deer with it.

Forgive the white stuff in the handle - it's probably deer fat. It was clean until I deboned a deer Saturday night and I haven't given it any further attention since then.
