I put my hands on the gun case a couple days ago and was on par with my pelican. I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger (no pun intended) on them.

I’ve got a 30 and 40 softside and have used them several times as a carry-on. Stuffed full of clothes, frozen meat, whatever else I happen to be carrying with me. I double checked, and they both fit in the carry-on box that Southwest airlines uses. Plus they float if you drop them out of a boat.
