Almost finished my Tikka 223 RSS - 18" barrel/suppressor/SWFA 3-9/Sportsmatch rings after years of getting pounded with my lightweight 30-06. I realize I suck at shooting with two main issues limiting how much I shoot: recoil and cost. The 223 is the perfect tool for these two constraints.

What are the RSS suggested bulk ammo choices? I will probably shoot a lot of volume at 100 yards, including field positions, so I need something cheap with acceptable accuracy at short range. I will also make opportunities to practice longer range over the summer - should I have an additional stash of nicer ammo, even if I have to rezero for these longer-range (<500yd) sessions? It would be a plus if I could hunt deer with the nicer match ammo.

I have had decent accuracy from the PSA 75 blacktips. Then the 55blacktips. The 77OTM’s have not been consistent in my Tikka but had been in a savage with a shilen barrel.

After on shoot this batch up I am moving to Hornady 55 HP to verify how they shoot.

The two that stood out in my factory tikka 223 barrel:
- ADI 55 Sierra Blitzking for $0.70/ea (Was as low as $0.60/ea not too long ago) This will fit the 100 yard practice slot well as it lacks the BC to do as well at distance. ADI brass is good to re-use for your own ammo too. Check out post #569 in this thread for examples of it in factory tikka barrels. https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/shoot2hunt-university.357235/page-28#post-4206582

- Hornady Match 73 ELDm for longer range stuff and hunting. Looks like lots of places have it for around $1/ea right now if you search ammoseek. This stuff hammered out of my factory tikka barrel even better than the ADI 55 SBK and I would have just shot it most of the time if it were a little cheaper. Funny thing is it doesn't shoot nearly as well out of my fancy custom ACE 223 wylde barrel that replaced the factory tube.

ADI 55 grain blitzking or 69 grain OTM for practice. Black hills 77 TMK for hunting. AAC has been hit or miss

I just picked up some bone frog ammunition because I’ve heard good things about their 77gr with Barnes match burners and the 77 with TMK. But no range time with either.
