RRS teased new inverted tripod

Looks like the stowed "diameter" is a little larger. Is it anything noticeable in practical use?

Also, could you compare the weight to your 33? The new one is about a pound heavier? I imagine you can feel that just picking them up side by side?
It's actually way more comfortable/convenient to have the space between the legs while closed. I hike into stands with the rifle clipped in and over my shoulder. Makes for a nice handle. The tfct closed that gap.
Weight is noticeable to pick them up, it is less than a pound. The weight doesn't bother me whatsoever for what I'm using it for, especially coming from a fat boy tripod. My purpose for this tripod is predator hunting- not big game

makes sense, looks good!

FYI: still no ETA on the inverted 3-section. I was at RRS last week.
Was that not a deal where they only built the few because they were using up some remaining carbon tubes that happened to fit building a 3 section?

Yes, they had some old inventory to use up and did a special run with Phil V. (sponsored shooter). As I understand it, the material was used up and they won't be doing another like it.

The new 3-section inverted will be a different design / different tubes.

I want a one series inverted for hunting.

I finally caved and bought another 1 series, the 13cx and I really like it. The 3 section is pretty stout in anything kneeling and below and it’s a small light tripod

I realize that the tricer tripods probably aren't anywhere in the same league as the RRS, but for just a casual shooter what are your opinions on their HK tripod? It seems like for a fraction of the cost it can at least get someone in the game. Is it worth the extra cost to get a RRS?

I've never handled any tricer tripods but I've heard folks talk positively about them. If I wanted a dedicated shooting tripod and couldn't swing rrs coin, I'd be looking at fat boy or 2 vets

I'm curious what this thing is supposed to be, 33i? 23i?

RRS doesn't make a tripod that phsyically specs like an HK is the main problem. If they did it would be the most ideal hunting tripod on the market IMO. HK is lighter weight than dedicated "shooting" tripods so its not going to be as stable but its beefier than the sub 2# backpack glassing tripods lots of us started with as well.

RRS only has traditional leg orientation on their lighter weight 1 series models.

This answers what I guess I was driving at. I don’t particularly care to lug around a 5lbs tripod into the backcountry. So if the tricer is a sufficient middle ground it sounds to me that it may be worth the trade offs.

I had a bipod from them and it just felt cheap.
I’m sure it gets the job done but You can tell it’s definitely from china.
Had Leofoto before and just picked up a Rrs ascend and it’s definitely in a different league.

The Tricer is in no way in the league of RRS. You guys are going to be stoked with what RRS releases next week. I’ve not handled it personally, but know people who have.

Do you know if you can buy it without the head? I have an anvil 30 I swap on my Ascend 14L but it would be nice to have a heavier tripod sometimes.

I don't really know too much, but Its not an integrated head tripod like a version of the Ascend-14, so yes it'll be legs only.
