A rooftop tent is pretty nice for camping/hunting. They are heavy, but there is no tent faster to go to sleep than a hardtop popup that will let you store your sleeping bag inside. You literally can be inside in a minute or two.

They can be some effort to close though and good ones are expensive. Fwiw, there are some good videos on YouTube on different brands and forums on FB.

It depends on your hunting style. I've spent at least 30 nights in mine. If you are a park-and-hunt type of person, it's fine. If you're driving around it can be a bit of a hassle, but less of a hassle than setting up a tent in a new spot every night. The quick pop up style is convenient, but they're expensive and the sleeping area is smaller than the fold out style.

For me, having a large, flat, and comfortable sleeping surface was worth it. If I was more mobile, I'd rather use a long bed pickup. Also, wind can be a problem since you're higher off of the ground.

I use mine a bunch on the early season it's less appealing as the temperature drops.

If I was going to be moving camp a bunch it would be ideal but when it's cold I like to get somewhere warm without taking my boots off.

I like mine, never have been a fan of setting up a tent by the truck so I slept in the bed (with a topper. However when hunting a have more gear than camping so I had to take it out to sleep. Now I just climb in the tent and leave everything in the bed. I find it better in wind than a ground tent at least a lightweight one. The material is thicker and the truck does not really move all that much, at least for me.
