RokStok

They must have beefed the current Rokstok up. Mine is the original pre order. 36 oz with altitude bottom metal, action screws, leather cheek, wooden 1.5” spacer, lug, pic/Spartan rail.

I believe @Formidilosus addressed this earlier, there were cracking issues in the comb on a small number of stocks and it was decided to add material there.

Thanks. I followed close for a long time but it got to be too much to keep up with the thread. I may also have a comb crack. I’ll send UM some pictures tomorrow
Is the stock with the possible comb crack the same one with the crack around the recoil lug?

There is something loose rattling in my stock. Maybe pieces from when they stalled the spacers? Is the butt end all hollow. Thinking I can drill a hole in the bottom to get it out then just fill it. Not sure if this is mentioned somewhere in this thread.
Yes, I had that issue on my stock ordered in Jan and received in Feb. Stocky's PM'd me stating it would be the foam fill inside the stock. The entire butt is filled with a crystalline, lightweight foam. I shook tablespoons of dust and chunks out of my QD cup hole until I decided to cut off the recoil pad and scoop ALL of the foam out of the buttstock. In my case, the worst "nuggets" were up in the grip area which required me removing all foam to get to it. I pried it out with a screwdriver and shook it into the trash. They 100% had some sort of mixing issue, as the foam was inconsistently cured. Some was foam, some was chunky plastic beads. My stock sounded like a maraca when I got it. No idea how it passed both companies QC.

Thanks, good to know. I guess the piece could be anywhere in there then.

It isn’t a cartridge thing. That is an early stock that didn’t get enough epoxy.

@doverpack12
Call UM, talk to Blaine and get a replacement stock. If you need one to use this spring, I’ll send you one of mine until yours comes in.

Thank you Form!

I submitted an email to UM this morning, within an hour or two Cody M responded in a new email asking for pictures. Once he saw the pictures he said it was a warranty item. He’s working on it.

I can put the factory stock back on if I need the rifle. I have others that can get me by but appreciate the offer @Formidilosus

I might add that you can’t beat UMs responsiveness and willingness to address issues. It would be very easy to say I did this or that causing the cracks. It’s why I keep buying their products and trusting at pre-order time
